Ijaza Program

The Qur'an, memorised and transmitted.

The Qur'an is at the very heart of Islamic identity and spirituality. At IUM, we recognize the immense honor and responsibility of preserving the Qur'an through Tahfeedh (memorization) and Ijaza certification with unbroken chains back to the Prophet ﷺ.

Memorisation and transmission

The oldest form of preservation.

The Ijaza is not a certificate of completion. It is a living link in an unbroken chain of oral transmission stretching back fourteen centuries. Every reciter who holds one received the Qur'an from a certified sheikh, who received it from his, going back to the Prophet himself.

This program pairs structured Hifz with the rigorous Tajweed correction and supervised recitation that earning that chain requires.

Two dimensions of the program

Hifz and Ijaza together.

Both strands develop in parallel; memorisation and transmission reinforce one another throughout.

  1. Hifz al-Qur'an

Complete memorisation of the Qur'an under certified supervision, with structured revision and Tajweed correction at every stage.

  2. Ijaza bi-Sanad

Earn a continuous chain of transmission connecting you to the Prophet through generations of scholars. Recite to a sheikh; receive your isnad in writing.

A structured progression

From first juz to complete khatm.

Three stages move students from accurate recitation through full memorisation to verified transmission.
