Student Handbook

Comprehensive policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines governing the student experience at the Islamic University of Minnesota.

Code of Conduct

The Islamic University of Minnesota expects all students to adhere to the highest standards of Islamic adab (etiquette) and moral character. This extends to all virtual interactions, correspondence with faculty, and participation in collaborative coursework. Students must respect the diversity of the global student body and engage in academic discourse with intellectual humility and mutual respect. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will be addressed by the disciplinary committee.

Academic Integrity

Seeking knowledge is a sacred trust. The university strictly prohibits plagiarism, cheating, and the unauthorized use of artificial intelligence tools for completing graded assignments. All submitted work must be the student's original creation. Proper citation must be provided for all referenced sources, both classical and contemporary. Collaborative work is only permitted when explicitly authorized by the course instructor.

Grading Policy

Academic performance is evaluated on a rigorous standard designed to ensure true mastery of the subject matter. The standard GPA scale (4.0) is utilized across all undergraduate and graduate programs. Grade Percentage GPA Points A 90% – 100% 4.0 B 80% – 89% 3.0 C 70% – 79% 2.0

Attendance & Participation

While our programs offer flexibility, active participation is required. Students are expected to log into the Learning Management System weekly, contribute to discussion forums, and attend live synchronous sessions where applicable. Prolonged absence without formal leave may result in administrative withdrawal.

Technology Use Policy

University-provided accounts, including email and portal access, are for academic and administrative purposes only. Students must maintain the security of their credentials and utilize university digital resources responsibly.
